PARAGLIDING - FLYING OVER AGORDO

Take-off spot
Maily two (ColVignas and Rifugio Scarpa) even though there are others but not often used.

Landing spot
Altitude: 600 mt.

From the center of Agordo proceed for 300 meters towards Cencennighe, then turn left towards Forcella Aurine. The landing is after 500 meters near the cemetery, north of the roadman's house. It's a lawn with a wind vane. Be careful of the power line that runs parallel. The strong valley breeze can create difficulties, making landing in the afternoon challenging. The area is intended for mowing so, when the grass is high, tread as little as possible.

Features
Agordo is a large valley in the center of Val Cordevole. The slopes above it, initially not very steep, slope until they become imposing rock bastions, with massifs such as Agner, Moiazza, San Sebastiano.

Flying
It is a valley flight, i.e. characterized by a strong breeze, which can be annoying in the central hours of the day. The ideal period for flying in these areas starts from early March to the end of May. In summer it is advisable to fly mainly in the evening, when the breeze is easing. You can stay in the air, taking advantage of the restitution, even until after eight in the evening.

Cross Country
If the day is decent, an obligatory passage is the Framont from which you can set off to conquer the Pale di San Lucano. If the day is good, from Framont you can go to Moiazza, then San Sebastiano, Tamer and tour the entire valley. If the day is excellent, there are no limits: crossing the Pale di San Lucano you pass into the Biois Valley, or passing the Moiazza you can aim for Pelmo, then the Ampezzo valley... Some have even managed the descent along the valley to emerge in Val Belluna.
